The third and final part of the series was issued in 2006. The previous two parts served primarily to introduce Chinese Opera to general audiences. Appreciation takes on a broader perspective by introducing contemporary drama and changing its focus from the traditional stage to the modern stage which breaks down restrictions on traditional design.

This DVD completes the series by inviting many famous actors of Chinese Opera to talk about the importance of individual acting style on the traditional stage. Professor Wang An-Chi, a famous playwright and the artistic director of the Guoguang Opera Company, comments on the distinctive features of many operas, such as Hong-Niang, The Western Chamber, Searching for and Rescuing the Orphan, The Orphan of the Zhaos, Qin Xiang-Lian, and Mr. Goodman Dumps His Wife, produced at different times. He describes the plot of each play from the perspective of a playwright.
Renowned contemporary stage performers in Taiwan, such as Lin Huai-Min, Ping Yen, Nie Guang-Yen, and Li Hsiao-Pin, the director of the company, discuss how Chinese Opera draws upon elements of the contemporary stage including gestures and stage design and identify important issues concerning the modernization of traditional drama.
