Like a home delivery service, the Guoguang Opera Company “delivers” many wonderful classics of Chinese Opera to numerous campuses giving students burdened with heavy schoolwork the opportunity to enjoy these high quality performances at school instead of in the theater. To carry out the duty of promoting artistic education, the Guoguang Opera Company typically holds a demonstration workshop prior to a performance to help students understand the story and meaning of the opera, enabling them to truly appreciate the beauty of traditional performance arts. Traditional operas are chosen for campus performances with an emphasis on both acting and singing. Examples include A Fork Road, Hiding in a Wardrobe, Stopping the Horse, The Match of He-zhu, and The Monkey King. We have put on such performances in many junior high schools, high schools, and colleges.
